Regular hours are sunrise to sunset daily.
The Mariana Butte Trail System, including Hidden Hogback trail, encircles and traverses the butte and includes a spur to the summit. The trails were constructed in 2015-2017 and provide over 1.25 miles of soft-surface trails with excellent wildlife viewing opportunities and panoramic views.
To best preserve the native vegetation and wildlife habitat, hiking is limited to established trails and bicycles are prohibited.
Leashed dogs are welcome, owners must pick up and remove pet waste; doggie bags and a trash can are provided. Parking, restrooms and concessions are available at the Mariana Butte Golf Course clubhouse near the trailhead.
The sustainable trail system was constructed 100% by volunteers. The Colorado Addicted Trailbuilders Society (CATS) Loveland-Fort Collins Chapter is a non-profit organization dedicated to trail construction in Northern Colorado. These volunteers provide quality work at public sites at no cost. CATS welcomes new volunteers and provides all necessary training. More information: http://trailcats.org.
