Court Appointed Attorney:

Court appointed attorneys are private local attorneys that are hired and paid for by the Municipal Court to represent you.

There are two criteria applied to determine if a person qualifies for a Court Appointed Attorney:

1. The charge must have the possibility of jail time should you plead guilty, no contest or found guilty at trial. These charges include all Loveland Municipal Code violations, as well as traffic offenses. A person who is charged with a traffic infraction or a parking ticket, will not qualify for a Court Appointed Attorney because jail is not a possible penalty.

2. You must fall below the income guidelines in order to be granted a Court Appointed Attorney. The income guidelines are established by the Colorado Supreme Court.
