Receive timely emergency notifications through text and email messages through NOCO Alert – the primary notification system for all of Larimer County.

If we can’t reach you, we can’t alert you. Loveland’s emergency notification system is called NOCO Alert. Subscribers can provide multiple addresses within Larimer County, including home, school, and work, and they can set language preferences. Alerts will come to your cell phone and/or your email, based on your delivery preference.

NOCO Alert is only used for emergency situations defined as imminent or that have a potential threat to life and/or property. This may include but is not limited to:

• Missing or endangered children or adults.
• Severe weather or natural disasters such as floods, tornados or wildland fires.
• Infrastructure emergencies such as a major waterline or natural gas leaks.
• Police activity that requires an evacuation or shelter in place order.

When an emergency happens, the communications team will update the City’s main homepage (lovgov.org) with timely information.

The City’s communication team will use social media to help connect the public to emergency information.

Additional social media channels for water and power, transit, airport, recreation, police services and more are also available. Depending on the type of emergency, information may be shared on one or all of these channels.

When an emergency happens, staff will activate flashing roadside signs, and the City’s 1610 AM radio station will be updated.

Local and regional broadcast stations will also be notified through media releases when appropriate.

Loveland TV, the City of Loveland’s government access television station, will be updated to include emergency information.

There are several ways the City of Loveland will try to reach residents and businesses with timely and actionable information. Stay tuned to City communication platforms and subscribe to alerts.

Make sure your family talks about how they would handle various types of emergencies. Consider your family and pet’s special needs. Review your insurance policies and make sure they are appropriate for the level of support you might need if a disaster hit. Choose a safe place to meet. Make sure the entire household knows where emergency supplies are kept and think about and talk to the members of your household about evacuation routes, meetup spots, and established shared emergency contacts.

Think about every member of the household and create an emergency supply kit that will meet everyone’s needs. Are there specific supplies that would be needed if an emergency happened? What about diapers or formula for an infant? What about medications? Your supply kit should include items such as water, non-perishable food, food prep tools, pet food, a flashlight, batteries and chargers, copies of important documents, cash, and necessary hygiene products.
