What can I expect?

When a traumatic incident occurs, victims and witnesses often feel alone, isolated, or helpless. Some normal reactions you may experience are:

  • Shock and disbelief
  • Denial
  • Depression and anger
  • Confusion and numbness
  • Problems with trusting others
  • Mood swings
  • Inability to sleep
  • Changes in appetite
  • Other physical/emotional changes

Crisis Intervention and Follow-Up

Advocates can assist you in sorting through the confusing feelings you may be experiencing. An advocate can also help you regain control by helping you manage one problem at a time.

Advocacy and Practical Help

We want you to ask questions if you don’t understand the terms used by law enforcement officers, or what stages normally occur in the investigation and prosecution of a criminal case.

If you or a loved one has been a victim of a crime, we are here to provide information, assistance, support, and resources. Please call (970) 962-2217.
