Although all officers are expected to enforce traffic laws, the personnel assigned to the Traffic Unit are focused on traffic enforcement on our city streets. The Traffic Unit also promotes public education to reduce driving under the influence of alcohol and other drugs, and to increase defensive driving, seat belt, and car seat usage. The officers drive unmarked vehicles and marked motorcycles to increase their ability to detect traffic violations.
