Contractors installed a new pedestrian bridge six hours ahead of schedule yesterday at Viestenz-Smith Mountain park in Loveland. When we got the news things were starting early, we raced up the canyon (safely and within the speed limit, of course) to capture everything on film. We beat the snow and settled this beauty into place without a hitch.

The bridge spans 140 feet across the Big Thompson River and was designed with abutments and elevation to be flood resilient. This bridge is part of our larger ADA accessibility path from the upper parking lot to the north side of the river.

Viestenz-Smith is scheduled to re-open in fall 2018.
