On November 28, 2023, the Loveland City Council voted to enact a six-month moratorium on new oil and gas development within city limits. Under the moratorium, the City would not accept any applications for new oil and gas development until June 1, 2024, or until the City’s Development and Planning Department could revise the City’s current regulations to conform with state regulations established with the passage of Senate Bill 19-181.
