How to request an extension on a permit

If you would like to request an extension on an open permit, please send a written request to the Chief Building Official, Theresa Campbell, at Theresa.Campbell@cityofloveland.org

The Building Official may extend the time for action by the applicant for a period not to exceed sixty (60) days upon written request showing circumstances beyond the control of the applicant that have prevented action from being taken within the allotted time.

First extension will be at no cost. Second extension will be charged $65.

THERE WILL BE NO THIRD EXTENSION. APPLICANT WILL BE REQUIRED TO RESUBMIT FOR PERMIT

Permits that have expired and been closed out

Permits that have been expired and closed out CANNOT BE reopened. The applicant will need to submit a new application with plans showing the current code cycle to the correct email, depending on the project. Once submitted, a new permit will be created and reviewed. Once approved through review, the Building Department will email out a new set of conditions and a new fee statement showing current fees.
