Once again—for more than 30 years--Loveland will celebrate Independence Day with day-long activities and a giant nighttime fireworks show at North Lake Park, located at Taft Avenue and 29th Street.
• The festivities begin at 10 a.m. near the Lone Tree School House with an official flag raising by Boy Scout Troop 186 and members of the local American Legion chapter. Food, entertainment and information will be available from about 20 vendor booths all afternoon at the park. At 8 p.m., the 80+ piece Loveland Concert Band will play a variety of patriotic music.
• The fireworks show will begin at about 9:17 p.m.
• Because of the expected large crowd, 29th Street will be closed along the north edge of the park between Custer Drive and Taft Avenue beginning at 6 a.m. The street will be reopened about 10:30 p.m.
• A special July 4th info line is available at 962-2110 with details on the North Lake Park event, personal fireworks regulations, event parking and a connection to report illegal fireworks.
• This year, both the sale and use of personal fireworks is prohibited in Loveland. Loveland police will actively enforce fireworks violations.
