While a variety of planting opportunities will occur, the City Council has formally proclaimed the planting on Friday, May 7 as the City’s official celebration. This ceremony will also recognize our 32nd consecutive Tree City USA award for our community. Tree City USA awards recognize the efforts of volunteers and staff to maintain and enhance the diversity, beauty and safety of Loveland's community forest. The celebration of Arbor Day is not limited to a single day. This year, the City will be planting trees at various sites in the community.
2021 Arbor Day Activities
Friday May 7, 2021
City Councilors, Mayor Jacki Marsh, City Manager Steve Adams, guests and staff will plant our ceremonial tree at the Civic Center. Additional details will be provided as the event nears.

Sweetheart City Racing will hold a two mile Run For the Trees run/walk to benefit tree planting for the Parks & Recreation Foundation. This event will be held at Mehaffey Park. Colorado blue spruce seedlings will be given away to the first 100 entries. For more info, please visit sweetheartcityracing.com

Volunteers from local high schools will plant trees at locations to be determined. Park plantings will prioritize replacements for removals from the 2021 winter snowstorm and our community orchards.
