Public Reception and Artist Demo during Night on the Town: Friday, March 8, 6 - 8 pm
Land is a common link between all people. It influences all aspects of life. Spirituality, cultural identity, family and a sense of place can all be tied to the land.
This exhibition will feature prints from the Loveland Museum’s art collection, as well as original prints from Denver artist Tony Ortega. Drawing from his cultural connection to the land, Ortega will lead students in two different workshops in the Print Shop at the Beet Education Center. During this artist residency, students will create their own artwork as they explore their personal connection to the land. Prints created by students will also be displayed in this exhibit, as we celebrate the Month of Printmaking.
The Month of Printmaking, also known as Mo’Print, will take place during March and promotes awareness of the fine art of making original, hand-crafted prints. Events are organized throughout the Denver metropolitan area, the front range region, and Colorado.
