Join this guided walk with Certified Interpretive Guide Eldon G to visit Morey Wildlife Reserve along the west Big Thompson River and learn about the nature that abounds. See the deciduous trees and shrubs in their autumn splendor, late blooming flowers, bushes laden with berries, migrating and resident birds, scat of large mammals (maybe even the animals themselves), and more.
Morey Wildlife Reserve is a very special resource in an urban environment. Populations of deer and elk are almost always in the area. Bear and bobcats are frequent visitors. It is hard to predict what we will see this year, but it will surely be interesting. The soft-surface trail is an easy 0.7-mile loop. Dress for the weather and wear comfortable closed-toe shoes.
Parking is available on-street in the neighborhood. Please observe the No Parking signs and avoid blocking driveways. The green and white Open Lands & Trails feather flag will mark the way into the wildlife reserve. Meet at the bottom of the hill as you walk through the gate into Morey.
