Volunteer Training - Environmental Education - CSI

This free training is for volunteers interested in helping to present Critter Scene Investigation (CSI) environmental education programs to students from Kindergarten through 2nd grade. Programs will be held at Namaqua Park (or outdoors at host schools) and last 2 hours (morning or afternoon), offered from mid-September through early November. The 2023 program will be "The Case of the Flattened Frog."  The number of teaching days is dependent on teacher reservations but typically varies between 2-6 times per month.

During volunteer training, five short presentations (8-10 minutes) cover the lessons volunteers will give to small groups of 4-8 students, repeated as the groups rotate through all five stations. This is a nice introduction to volunteering for those interested in working with young children and sharing their love of nature at a convenient outdoor but "in-town" location.

Sign up on Offero.  Questions?  Contact Diana Frances, Volunteer & Stewardship Assistant, at diana.frances@cityofloveland.org or 970.962.3427.

Other education program trainings will be offered on September 6 (Plants & Places - Grades 2-3) and September 7 (Wildlife - Energy through the Biosphere - Grades 4-5).
