Kenneth Jessen has been exploring Colorado ghost towns for over four decades. In the process, he has visited over 1,600 places that are either completely abandoned or where there are just a handful of residents.

Many of his trips were taken with others expanding his range. In the process of his discoveries, he has written a number of books including Ghost Towns, Colorado Style in three volumes: northern region, central region and southern region.

A decade long project resulted in Ghost Towns, Eastern Colorado. His first four-color work was Colorado’s Best Ghost Towns and more recently in 2023, Colorado Ghost Town Guide.
